As part of the “green passport” scheme that went into effect today in Italy, the Ministry of Health also announced an exemption for participants in a series of tests for the coronavirus vaccine developed in Italy by biotech company Reithera, but not yet licensed.
All participants can obtain an “exemption from vaccination against Covid-19 in paper or digital format” at testing centers, the ministry told agency sources. This certificate is reportedly valid until September 30 and is issued by the doctor responsible for the test center where the vaccination was carried out.
Stricter measures in force
In Italy, as of today, a “green passport” is required if you want to eat indoors in a restaurant, go to a museum or a spa. This must be accompanied by either proof of vaccination, a negative test no more than 48 hours old, or proof of recovery. Starting in September, teachers, students and university lecturers will also have to provide such proof. The “green passport” will then also be mandatory on long-distance trains, buses and ferries.
The rules already apply to outdoor cultural and sporting events, swimming pools, gyms and amusement parks. Anyone over the age of twelve will be affected. Restaurant owners or operators of other businesses must show proof of age. There are penalties for violations.
